OUR HISTORY

TODARO FAMILY

Our history has distant roots.
A passion passed down from generation to generation that has grown over time.

The start in Contrada Zabbia

The Todaro family's history has its roots in a hopeful Monday in 1951. It was then that Grandfather Giuseppe , with the foresight of one who can look beyond the horizon, chose the Agro di Monreale to bring his dream to life. In Contrada Zabbia, amidst the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, the first rows of vines were planted: bush-trained vineyards, where Inzolia and Moscato vines grew low and proud, nourished by the Sicilian sun and the care of expert hands. 1958 – The Expansion to Don Tomasi The bond with the land grew even deeper towards the end of 1958. Giuseppe, driven by a tireless passion, turned his gaze towards the Agro di San Cipirello. In Contrada Don Tomasi he acquired a new strip of land, a small gem already destined for viticulture. It was the union of these two different yet complementary terroirs that definitively marked the winemaking destiny of our family.

2010

The New Dawn: The Family Winery is Born

2010 marks the beginning of a new chapter, one in which the land and experience finally become a "home." Adriano and Giuseppe Todaro , sons of Calogero and Giovanna, choose to honor their roots by leading the company to its fullest potential. After years of academic studies in oenology and agriculture, and having experienced the ritual of harvesting since childhood, the two brothers decided to create the first family winery.

They chose the company's beating heart in Contrada Feotto, in the Alta Valle dello Jato, establishing its headquarters on Via Terra di Giulia. It is here that Grandfather Giuseppe's dream found its permanent home. Since then, we have never moved: we have remained there, custodians of a specific, authentic, and recognizable world. A place where the innovation of young people and the memory of our ancestors coexist in every single barrel, making each of our bottles a unique and unrepeatable story.

Today, Adriano and Giuseppe interpret their roles with the dedication of a master tailor. We see our wines as tailor-made suits, tailored to the characteristics of each individual vintage and each specific vineyard. In the cellar, we apply obsessive attention to every detail: there are no industrial processes, only the artisanal precision that transforms the grapes into a unique work of art. Each bottle is a bespoke piece, designed for those who appreciate the beauty of nuance and the elegance of a product made entirely by hand.
